One mom’s messy, mindful journey to heal her relationship with food—while juggling chaos, kids, and cravings.

Welcome. I’m Janelle.

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a full-time working mom navigating the noise of motherhood with a neurodivergent son, a strong-willed toddler, and a brain full of ADHD spirals. On top of that? I’m on a deeply personal mission to heal my relationship with food and shed about 80 pounds — not through punishment or perfection, but through presence, patience, and a whole lot of honesty.

This isn’t a before-and-after blog — it’s a “middle of the story” kind of space.

Welcome

Hey there, and welcome to my little corner of the internet — Chaos & Carrots.

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a full-time working mom juggling life with a neurodivergent son, a stubborn toddler, a dash (or let’s be real, a whole scoop) of ADHD myself, and about 80 pounds of extra weight I’m working on losing. My house is rarely quiet, my to-do list is never done, and most days, I’m just doing my best to stay afloat.

Sound familiar? Then you might be in the right place.

This blog is for the moms who are trying to keep it together — even when it feels like everything is falling apart. The ones who forget appointments, can’t get their kids to eat anything but snacks, and sometimes sit on the couch completely frozen because the mental load is just too much. (Same, girl. Same.)

I created Chaos & Carrots to share real-life stories from this wild season — the messy, the hilarious, the overwhelming, and yes, even the mindful. Because while I’m far from mastering the whole “find joy in the chaos” thing, I am learning to take small steps. Whether it’s showing up for myself with a mindful meal, writing my to-do list on my son’s failed reward chart (true story), or just choosing to breathe instead of explode — it’s all part of the journey.

So what can you expect here?

  • Real talk about motherhood, weight loss, and ADHD life
  • Simple hacks that actually help (or at least make you laugh)
  • Recipes that are realistic, beginner-friendly, and picky-eater tested
  • Stories that don’t always have a solution
  • Little moments of mindfulness in the middle of the madness

If you’re looking for perfection, you won’t find it here. But if you’re looking for honesty, growth, and a sense of “me too” — I hope you’ll stick around.

Thanks for being here 💛 Let’s figure this chaos out together — one carrot at a time.
