One mom’s messy, mindful journey to heal her relationship with food—while juggling chaos, kids, and cravings.

Welcome. I’m Janelle.

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a full-time working mom navigating the noise of motherhood with a neurodivergent son, a strong-willed toddler, and a brain full of ADHD spirals. On top of that? I’m on a deeply personal mission to heal my relationship with food and shed about 80 pounds — not through punishment or perfection, but through presence, patience, and a whole lot of honesty.

This isn’t a before-and-after blog — it’s a “middle of the story” kind of space.

About Me

Hi, I’m Janelle!
I’m a proud mama of two little ones, a business owner, and a woman learning to juggle all the beautiful chaos life throws my way. I run a successful business with my two siblings and absolutely love what I do. A few days a week, I get to work from home while also chasing after my spirited toddler—which, let’s be honest, is both a blessing and a bit of a circus!

My oldest, Liam, has been diagnosed with ADHD, and he’s the reason this blog exists. I wanted a space to share what it’s really like to parent a child with a wildly curious, energetic mind. We’re figuring it out as we go—learning to work with him, not against him. And in the process, I’m realizing how isolating it can feel to be “that mom” with the child who can’t quite stand still in line or follow the rules like the others. I still remember his first day of Kindergarten—every other kid was standing in line, and my son was bouncing, wandering, touching things, completely overwhelmed by all the stimulation. He still struggles to stand in line for longer than two minutes. And I know we’re not the only ones.

But this blog isn’t just about parenting. It’s also about me—the woman behind the mom title. I’m currently on a journey to lose 80 pounds. I’ve battled my weight since my teen years, and it only intensified after marriage and kids. I managed to lose a bunch before having Liam, gained some, lost some again before baby #2—and now I’m working on getting back to where I feel like myself again. I’m doing that through intermittent fasting, hormone-aware eating, and intuitive eating.

Interestingly enough, Liam and I share a lot: ADHD, big feelings, and challenges with emotional regulation. So part of my journey is learning what works for me, so I can better support him too.

And let’s not forget the food battles. I’m deep in the trenches of feeding two very intense picky eaters. Liam has texture sensitivities, so even the “simple” stuff can be complicated—he’ll eat a granola bar but not if it’s the wrong kind of chewy. And my toddler, Ashlyn? She’s got a full-blown love affair with sugar. Trying to create balanced meals that work for both of them (and let’s be honest, me too) is an ongoing experiment in patience, creativity, and deep breathing.
